Maine GeoRally Race

October 7, 2010

The Maine GeoRally Race will start and finish at DeLorme again this year. We are very excited to be sponsoring this exciting geocaching event! This year there is a special theme, the organizers are raising money for the Catch-A-Dream Foundation. Check out both websites, there are still openings to take part in this fun filled day of geocaching! (All participants are entered into a raffle, with the grand prize being a PN-60w & SPOT Communicator package!)

If you can’t make it for the whole day you should still stop by and enter the raffle to win a PN-60! All money raised will go toward sending a sick child and their family on an outdoor adventure.

For those that live too far away to visit the store, check out their silent auction for one of our highly collectible Eartha 3-D geocoins! It’s looking to be a very popular coin and a great way to raise money for the Catch-A-Dream Foundation.

Team DeLorme will also be adding to the excitement by unveiling their long anticipated geocoin collection. We’ve been scrambling to get everything ready… here’s a photo to let you know what you’ll see when you visit Eartha the next time!

DeLorme official GPS Mapping sponsor of The Dempsey Challenge…

October 2, 2010

The Dempsey Challenge is taking place this weekend and DeLorme is proud to be the official GPS Mapping sponsor! We’re very excited to be part of the event again this year and are hoping to bring a little of the excitement to all of our blog and twitter followers by letting them watch some of the ride from where ever they might be around the country. We’ll be tracking various riders including Patrick Dempsey, top fundraisers, team captains, and professional riders as they travel the course tomorrow.

You can check out the SPOT Shared Page now to see messages sent from today’s private ride for sponsors and special guests. Look to see the site update in real time as riders head out onto tomorrow’s 10, 25, 50, and 100 mile bike routes.

The Dempsey Challenge SPOT Shared Page

If you’re attending the event stop by the DeLorme booth in the vendor area to get ride updates! If you’re out on the course watch for the yellow Team DeLorme jerseys to get stats on how far we’ve gone and how far is left before the finish line!

Most importantly though, congratulations to all the walkers, runners, and riders who have worked so hard to make this a successful fundraiser for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing. It’s a wonderful cause and an amazing fundraising event. We’re looking forward to seeing you all out there tomorrow… watch for us on the SPOT page if you can’t make it to the event!

UPDATE

The Topo North America map below shows the 100 mile Dempsey Challenge Map along with the profile for the ride.

The SPOT Page below shows all the messages that were sent from riders during the event.
